Does Plausible have session replay?

No. Plausible does not sell session replay at any tier, and has been clear that it is out of scope for the product. Neither do Fathom, Simple Analytics, or Pirsch. Mrkr includes it on every paid plan, from $5/mo.

Are both really cookieless?

Yes. Both count visitors with a rotating salted hash rather than a cookie or a device fingerprint, and neither requires a consent banner in the EU, UK, or California. On this point the two products are equivalent.

Mrkr. Plausible starts at $9/mo for 10K pageviews, 1 site on Starter. Mrkr Starter is $5/mo for 100K pageviews across 3 sites, so it is cheaper outright and much cheaper per pageview. Neither has a free plan: Plausible runs a 30-day trial and Mrkr a 14-day one.

Is Plausible open source?

Yes, Plausible publishes its source under AGPL and can be self-hosted. Mrkr is a proprietary hosted product with no self-host option. If running it yourself matters, that is a real point for Plausible.

Can I migrate from Plausible to Mrkr?

You can export your Plausible data and start sending events to Mrkr in the same afternoon, but historical data does not import into Mrkr's rollups. Most teams run both for a month and then cut over.
