Billing FAQ
Straight answers, cross-referenced to the pages with the full detail.
What exactly counts toward my quota?
Pageviews, and nothing else. Custom events, goals, revenue events, outbound clicks, downloads, scroll depth, engaged time, session replays and AI-crawler hits are all stored and charted for free. See What counts toward your quota for the full table.
Is there a free plan?
No, and there is no free trial either. The old free tier was retired on 2 September 2026 and replaced by a paid introductory period: $1 up front, card required, covering your first 14 days, after which the plan price is billed monthly. Workspaces already on the free plan keep it, but it can no longer be chosen.
Does a bot pageview count toward my quota?
No. The bot gate runs before any write to storage or billing: a request classified as a bot never becomes a pageview or a billable unit. It only shows up in the aggregate bot-blocked counter under Settings → Bot filtering.
Does a visit that gets filtered out by my excluded paths count?
No. Excluded-path pageviews are dropped at ingest, before rollups or billing. They're not stored anywhere and not counted.
What happens if I go over my included pageviews?
Nothing stops. Every current plan meters overage at $0.05 per 1,000 pageviews, so the excess lands on your next invoice and your data keeps being recorded in full. Only workspaces grandfathered onto the retired free plan hit a hard ceiling instead.
Are session replays billed separately?
No. Replay recordings never touch the rollup table that billing sums, so they don't count toward your quota at all, and there's no separate replay charge. Recordings are kept for 90 days on every plan.
If a single page fires several tracked interactions, am I charged for each one?
No. One pageview is one billable unit no matter how much else that page produces. A page with a pageview, four scroll thresholds, an engaged-time report and two of your own track() calls is one billable unit, not eight.
How do I lower my bill?
Reduce pageviews you don't want measured: exclude noisy internal routes with excluded paths. Cutting custom events or turning off session replay saves you nothing, because neither is billed. Tracking mode (cookieless vs. cookie) has no effect on billing either.
Is usage measured per site or per workspace?
Per workspace. All sites in a workspace share one monthly allowance: usage is the sum across every site the workspace owns, not tracked separately per site.
